The 2017 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games were held in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan 2017. The Turkmen government tightly controlled all aspects of public life and kept the games under utterly security conditions. The authority banned individuals’ arbitrary arrival and departure to the city center. Therefore, a modern Athletes’ Village was constructed to control athletes and journalists accessibly.
During school and university holidays, the Turkmen government held the event to compel citizens to go to stadiums and fill the Sport Salons.

بازیهای آسیایی داخل سالن و هنرهای رزمی سال ۲۰۱۷ در کشور ترکمنستان و در شهر عشق آباد برگزار شد. حکومت ترکمنستان ایندوره از بازیها را در فضای فوق العاده امنیتی برگزار کرد که ورود و خروج بی دلیل به مرکز شهر عشق آباد برای همه ممنوع بود.برای همین دهکده ورزشی  مدرنی در حومه شهرعشق آباد بنا شده بود تا کنترل ورزشکاران و خبرنگاران را سهل کند. حکومت ترکمنستان ایندوره از بازیها را در زمان تعطیلی مدارس و دانشگاهها برگزار کرد تا مردم را مجبور به پر کردن ورزشگاهها کند
