Norouzabad Horse Racing

Norouzabad Horse Racing complex which has been placed in a district the residents of which call it Khalij-e fars (Persian Gulf) in the vicinity of old Tehran- Karaj road, hosts horse racers from all over Iran in 16 consecutive weeks. Over 5oo horses take part in this competition. Although, historically, Gonbad-e Kavoos has been known as the main venue of horse racing competitions in Iran, Norouzabad summer competitions have gained popularity in recent years.
